Brockhaus Bazaar

It only comes around once every two weeks, so save up your tickets. You get five every week, and you may save them, or use them for drinks and water....you decide, but I think I know what you'll say. Also, you can MAKE MORE tickets to add to your savings. If your clip goes ALL the way to excellent day, well two tickets. If you go to the library before school, you get a ticket for each new book you get. Extra credit sheets are a ticket each...but those are few and go like lightning.

But today was the day we had all been waiting for--BROCKHAUS BAZAAR! I put it as the VERY last thing we would be doing that day. Tony has the most reading points, so he would run the store, a highly coveted honor.

I talked to Tony infront of the class, "Tony, look for a table who is clean, silent and working hard--if they do this for a few minutes, you may excuse the best looking table to the Bazaar. Once, in the Bazaar, the students are to touch NOTHING. They tell you what they want, they hand you the tickets, and you hand them their precious treasure." -me

"ok" -Tony

As Tony conducted the Bazaar, I got some work done.

I allow my students to sell some of their own possessions in the Brockhaus Bazaar, and they keep the profit. Thanks Dave Ramsey. Lets just say that if little red tickets were dollars, I'd be ROLLIN' in it right now, and Andrew and I would have to take a trip to Paris. But, alas.

Eduardo bought a game of jacks, and while the bazaar continued for other tables, I taught him how to play. As I taught him, I realized how good I was at jacks. So I began to cheer for myself each time I did well. Which drew my whole class to want to play. But really, they weren't as good as me, except for one girl, she's got rhythem. We were tied, but let's not think about that.

"Ok kids, time to go, but you can play jacks with Eduardo at lunch. Oh wait--nevermind, Eduardo has lunch detention--bummer. Teaches you to do your homework."

"awwwww!" -my class.

Here is a rare and treasured photo of the Brockhaus Bazzar.

Yes, that is a "Dairy of a Wimpy Kid, part 2" in there for 50 tickets. Don't be jealous, it is still on the market. 50 tickets is hard to save.

I used to have a raffle, then Dave Ramsey came into my life and I realized that I am teaching these children to gamble, which is not wisdom. So, I came up with the Bazaar to teach thrift and sense, and how to be a good loser at jacks.
