One less...

There is one less orphan in the world...

There is one less child on the Waiting Childrens list on Reece's Rainbow

One less baby needing to rock herself to sleep each night...

On less baby forgotten in her crib.

Anna was adopted today.

"Anna has beaten extraordinary odds - she has been adopted - the funds raised (and of course prayers) of several people she will never meet helped her find her way to a forever family. Kids with special needs VERY rarely get adopted - it is nothing short of a miracle "

-My friend Kate, orphan advocate and adoption facilitator

Oh sweet girl...

This very day, Anna's forever family commited to her.  Because of God.  Because six HIGH SCHOOL girls let God work through them.  They gave up their time with friends, tv time, activities and held garage sales, and collected money from anyone who would listen.  They listened to Him, became the light of the world to stand up for one little orphan.  Our memory verse before the week before we found Reeces Rainbow:

James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Andrea Roberts, the director of Reeces Rainbow wrote me an email thanking us for our efforts, and said our fundrasing and prayers worked!!  She even asked us to chose another child.  What an honor!

p.s.  People magazine is doing a segment on Andrea Roberts in the newest issue coming out Feb.19th!  Pick up a copy and look for her in their 'heros' section!!

Sooo....

We're celebrating!
Celebrating life,
celebrating God's goodness,
celebrating new beginnings for one little baby.  One of God's most precious daughters, even when her country thinks otherwise.

Please praise the Lord, He is so good.  And pray for Anna and her new family as they begin the adoption journey.

We love you Baby Anna, you are precious in His sight, and ours.

I just can't seem to get over the goosebumps of what this all means! Anna has a forever family! Wow! So, who's next to pray for and raise money for? =)
